Vision in the future that OPC builds
OPCが築く将来ビジョン

The vision of OPC keeps evolving as the end-users and vendor's requirements for secure reliable interoperability continues to be discovered. The initial vision of OPC was about a standard interface facilitating communication between applications and devices on the factory floor. Both hardware and software vendors realized the importance of providing an easy to adopt standard interface for reading and writing data in an efficient manner. The vision continued by enhancing the OPC foundation specifications with additional functionality that was still easy to adopt by the hardware and software vendors to add increased interoperability. The ability to discover and browse what data was available from the hardware for reading/writing and subscribing to exception-based data, coupled with providing services for data integrity was quickly adopted by the OPC vendor community. The first part of the vision was the development of the OPC data access architecture, which included specifications, sample implementations, certification and interoperability processes.
